Icky. Not to mention, unsafe. Those long metal poles were from when we disassembled the guest bed and they just need to be disposed of. Quick.
I completely cleared the closet. To my dismay, I found:
Seriously?! And these aren't including the pillows that are on the beds!
So much better now!
So, where did all the stuff go? Some bedding was given to my sister-in-law, the sewing stuff and fabric was relocated to my office (which means I had to rearrange my office too!), our luggage went to our media/storage room, and now I'm in the process of cleaning out our hall closet.
Some major spring cleaning happening here!

It always feels good to empty a space! We used to have way too many pillows too. I always kept extra on hand for guests and friends the girls had spend the night. I finally narrowed them down as we don't have overnight guests often (and when we do they stay in the girls rooms already equipped with pillows) and their friends can bring their own! I have several closets I need to tackle. Thanks for the motivation! My only fear, the dreaded "snowball effect" it will have.
ReplyDeleteLooking good! Our guest room also needs to be sorted out ... luckily we don't have overnight guest that often.
ReplyDeleteOh man that's a big guest room closet! I am jealous.
ReplyDeleteI am always confused by guest room closets. I have never stayed at someones place more than a night or two and therefore don't unpack. As a homeowner, I'd rather have the storage room over a place for the RARE guest to hang their stuff. But thats just me.
Also- that is a ridiculous amount of brand-new-looking pillows. Did you jump in that pile??
Wow! You are on a roll. (-: Hoping some of your posts rub off on me and get me organizing and finally spring cleaning. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWe are in the process of doing a little Spring cleaning too. Oh, it makes me feel so much better when everything is organized. The closet that needs tackling the most at our house is our hall closet. Hopefully, I can finish that up today.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have an empty closet! Love getting rid of clutter!
ReplyDeleteI have to know what type of pillows are those. I love pillows and would love to have nice white clean pillows all over my bed. Where can I purchase those from?
ReplyDeleteHa! I am cracking up on the pillows. I just gave a way a ton as well. Not sure how they multiply. I have closets and spring cleaning going on over here as well!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have it clean and open for guests! Maybe you can add an oversized bathrobe in there!! :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I love spring cleaning. WHEN ITS DONE. I love the product afterward. The feeling of being lighter.
ReplyDeleteYou would die if you saw my guest room closet. It is crammed full and I have been procrastinating about cleaning it out. I just need to get in there and get 'er done!
ReplyDeleteplease... come help do mine! it's worse!
ReplyDeleteso jealous of your beautiful clean empty closet. All mine are full and I have no idea how I alone fill them all up! Mine's all holiday decor, crafting, and luggage. How do we accumulate so much "stuff"?
ReplyDeleteI have so much to organize in my home, that i am kinda overwhelmed. I feel like I just move stuff from room to room, instead of finding places for everything. Should I hire a professional organizer?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you feel great now. Organizing and removing things always does ~
ReplyDeleteHa ha!! 9 pillows?! Your 'before' picture looks very similar to our guest room closet. I'm planning to do a major purge session very soon to clean out the clutter.
ReplyDeletewe need a pillow intervention...
